CIMB Clicks provides a high standard of security for online banking. Two-Factor Authentication is required, and the confidentiality and integrity of your transaction is assured as all information transmitted over the Internet is encrypted using 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
How can I be certain that the web page I am on is secure?
After logging into CIMB Clicks, check that the website address reflected on the address bar of your web browser changes from http:// to https:// and that a security icon (as symbolised by a padlock) appears at the bottom status bar of your web browser. This indicates that the webpage that you are on uses encryption technology.
You may double-click on the security icon to verify that the web page belongs to CIMB Clicks as shown below.
Can I access CIMB Clicks Internet Banking services via a publicly shared computer?
Yes. However, we advise you not to perform online banking from a publicly shared computer as it is difficult to assure that such a computer is free from malicious software which may compromise the confidentiality and integrity of your account information.
Why does my browser time out when I leave it idle?
This is a built-in security feature that will automatically log you out of the CIMB Clicks website after 5 minutes of non-activity on your browser. This is incorporated to ensure that your accounts are not accessed by unauthorised individuals should you leave your PC unattended.
How can I be sure that the transactions that have been performed online cannot be viewed by an unauthorised person or stored in the cache memory of the computer that was used?
To ensure complete confidentiality, you are advised to clear the cache memory of the Internet browser.
