What is the Two-Factor Authentication and how does it work?
Two-Factor Authentication is a security measure which involves an additional layer of security in verifying an Internet Banking user’s identity. With Two-Factor Authentication, users will be required to present a unique One-Time Password (OTP) in addition to the CIMB Clicks ID and password when performing login and other important transactions such as 3rd party funds transfer and update of customer particulars.
What is CIMB Bank’s approach to Two-Factor Authentication?
CIMB Bank is offering two modes of Two-Factor Authentication in obtaining One-Time Password (OTP) to provide the flexibility and convenience for our customers. The first mode is to receive OTP via the SMS (SMS-OTP) via your mobile phone, and the second mode is to retrieve a One-Time Password from an OTP-Token. Customers may opt for both modes and both modes can be used interchangeably.
Can I use CIMB Clicks if I do not have a mobile phone or when my mobile phone is out of the network coverage?
Yes, you will be able to log in to CIMB Clicks with your OTP-Token, but you will not be able to perform some transactions which require SMS-OTP, such as adding a new beneficiary for funds transfer.
What shall I do if I change my mobile phone number?
Besides updating your particulars through CIMB Clicks, you will also need to inform us of your new mobile number by filling in the service request form so as to allow us to route the SMS-OTP to your new number.
What shall I do if I have problems logging into CIMB Clicks (e.g. lose my OTP-Token, unable to receive SMS-OTP, exceed the maximum number of attempts of OTP)?
